1ST Half

We kicked off and were unlucky not to score in an early break on Avon Athletics goal. It seemed like it was just a matter of time before we opened the scoring. Tyler is unlucky on his ‘A’ team debut not to score on his first run at their defence. Owen is supplying some nice little passes about. He then goes on a  bursting run through from midfield to win us a corner which he delivers in to the box but Avon manage to clear it. At this stage of the game Avon put the pressure back on us but Lewis and Jacob are coping well and being well marshalled by Brandon in goal. After a well worked move Ryan is on hand to slot the ball past the Avon keeper to make it 1-0 to us. With all the possession we are now enjoying we are playing some nice pass and move football which is a pleasure to watch from the side. At this stage Matthew joins the game and manages to find the net with a well taken goal to put us 2-0 up and in control of the game. During the half-time team talk we tell the boys to start showing the passing side of our game more.

2nd half

Avon kick off the second half and force Brandon into a early save. From his pass out we move the ball about and open up Avon with Dan Bowden applying a clinical finish to make it 3-0 to us. We are now playing with 99% of the possession and Avon are feeding off the scraps but they just won't lie down to their credit and with the managers boy on their team it could have all changed if it wasn’t for Brandon and his defence being awake all game. We were unlucky not to score after a good passing move resulted in Ellie shaving the woodwork. Avon were trying to get back into the game but Brandon came off his line well to smother an Avon attack. Dan Bowden was unlucky with a chance but the Avon keeper did well to save it. Highlight of second half was the manager getting stuck in the hedge trying to retrieving the ball back! It was a good all round performance from both sides.

M.O.M ; JACOB MOORE The man of match this week was chosen by the manager of the other team today as it was to hard for me to do and his quote was "the tall defender at the back with the engine to drive forward as well"

1ST Half

Game kicked off and Fry’s started strong and put Avon under pressure straight away. Captain Kaka ran the length of the pitch to create our first chance but Avon defended well. Avon attacked but good defending by Rhys and Josh Seeley snuffed out the advance. Josh Seeley clears the ball and it’s picked up by Kaka who finishes well to make it 1-0. Fry’s attack again with Lewis and Kaka combining to produce another good chance only to be denied by the Avon keeper. Avon broke but the attack was countered by strong tackling from Rooney. Fry’s kept the pressure on when Josh Seeley picked the ball and ran the whole length of the pitch and delivered a cracking cross into the box but Kaka just failed to convert. Avon then created their best chance of the half and Ellis had to be called into action to save what seemed a certain goal. Fry’s returned with a counter attack, Lewis collected the pass and unleashed a fierce drive to make it 2-0 to us. We began to dominate the game creating more chances but failed to improve on our lead before half-time.

2nd half

We applied the pressure straight from the kick-off and Rhys should have scored to make it 3-0 but he fired just wide. We were now creating chances from all angles and forced 3 corners in a row but Avon managed to defend well. Kaka was now smiling and he picked the ball up in midfield . With his powerful run and good pass to Lewis it made it 3-0 to the boys. We were now moving and looking comfortable all over the park and more goals looked on the cards. Rhys played the ball across the goal line but no one was on hand to touch it in. Oliver won the ball in the middle of the park and pushed the pass forward to Lewis who just shot wide. Avon countered and after a strong run they followed it up with a powerful strike into the bottom corner of the net to make it 3-1. Fry’s reply was instant from the kick-off. Callum received the ball and made no mistake to make it 4-1 (no time to blink today). Fry’s were now hungry and looking for a fifth goal and Oliver won the ball in the middle of midfield and set off down the right. His cross picked out Kaka who made no mistake to make it 5-1 to us which was one of the performances of the season.

M.O.M: DAN PAYNE As in first game, we asked their manager and they said that "annoying powerhouse in the middle of midfield" which I have to agree with as he been a rock in the team.

I would like to thank Avon Athletic for two enjoyable games of football and I was glad that they scored a goal as all their boys worked hard for each other and never gave up and it was nice to play a game where I don’t think there was one bad tackle.
